A little bit about me
My name is Melanie Klomp and I have been a teacher at Captain R. Wilson Public School since 2006 in the Primary Division teaching Grades 3 and most recently Grade 1. I truly enjoy getting to know our students and creating programs that meet their individual learning styles and needs. I have a passion for Special Education and I am very excited to begin my new role this year as our Primary Division Special Education Resource Teacher! I am really looking forward to working with our wonderful students, families, teachers and School Teams to support our students by creating a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment. I truly believe our greatest teachers are our children and I am always grateful for the insight, wisdom and guidance they continue to give me.
My husband Jason and I are the parents of three amazing children Emersyn, Isla and Callum. Our family is very unique as two of our children are here with us and one lives in our hearts. Our oldest child Emersyn passed away at the age of 7 months old 7 years ago from Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 and she will forever live in our hearts. We honour her memory when we are helping others. Isla is our outgoing 5 year old and Callum is our very adventurous 2 year old. We treasure our family time together being outside in nature or cooking a meal together. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of you and your families over the school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Klomp
